WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. The return postage costs are payable by the customer.
Refunds are made via the same method used for original payment.
Orders are sent by Royal Mail First class service
International orders will be charged according to weight and destination. Charges are estimated.
Some destinations are serviced by Royal Mail and others may require a courier service, such as South Africa.
Shipping can be via standard shipping or can be Tracked and Signed for.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Payment can be made using Credit/Debit cards or Paypal.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This website is owned and operated by Sugar Design. These Terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us. This website offers visitors bespoke cake services, goods and tutoring. By accessing or using the website of our service, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
In order to use our website and/or receive our services, you must be at least eighteen years of age, or of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, and possess the legal authority, right and freedom to enter into these Terms as a binding agreement. You are not allowed to use this website and/or receive services if doing so is prohibited in your country or under any law or regulation applicable to you.
When buying an item, you agree that: (i) you are responsible for reading the full item listing before making a commitment to buy it: (ii) you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy an item and you complete the check-out payment process.
The prices we charge for our products are listed on the website. We reserve the right to change our prices for products displayed at any time, and to correct pricing errors that may inadvertently occur. Postage charges are added on checkout.
Returns and refunds are mentioned above.
You agree to indemnify and hold Sugar Design harmless from any demands, loss, liability, claims or expenses (including attorneys’ fees), made against them by any third party due to, or arising out of, or in connection with your use of the website or any of the services offered on the website
All our ingredients are of the highest quality. Our cakes may contain nuts or nut traces. Marzipan is used on the premises.
We prefer three months notice on wedding cakes but will accept short notice wedding cakes subject to the availability of the date required.
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by Sugar Design as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo, due to copyright.
We require a £100 deposit on placement of each wedding cake order. Please note that all deposits are non refundable.
For wedding cakes the final payment is due at least three weeks before delivery date, either by cheque or cash.
Wedding Cake Sponge Tiers:
If you require your wedding cake to be created with any sponge tiers, we recommend that the sponge tiers be consumed on the day to ensure they are as fresh as possible, we do not add any preservatives or additives to our wedding cakes to prolong shelf life.
Wedding Cakes only are delivered and set up at the venue in consultation with the client. Local delivery within a radius of our premises will be free. If delivery is required outside this radius, we will provide a quotation. Cakes may be collected from the premises with prior arrangement and will be boxed ready for transportation. Responsibility for the cake rests with the client once the cake has been removed from the premises.
Sugar Design does not send wedding cakes by courier unless arranged by the client. Individual wedding cakes sent by courier are packed accordingly for transportation. Sugar Design takes no responsibility for the cake once it is collected and signed for by the courier.
Sugar Design cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue, the stability or levelness of the table upon which the cake is displayed or the quality of the surrounding around the cake. Please ensure, therefore, that the 'cake presentation table' is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake.
All cakes other than wedding cakes must be collected.
Wedding Cake Cancellations:
Due to having to acquire certain components for our wedding cakes and order these months in advance it is necessary to implement the following conditions when a wedding cake order is cancelled:
30 days from your wedding date - 100 % of the total cost will be payable unless we can fill the date.
Wedding Cake cancellations must be made in writing.
Wedding Cake Stands or Bases:
We supply our wedding cake stands and bases Free of charge, subject to a refundable deposit, our stands and bases are used by many couples and should be returned to us within seven days of your wedding date, stands or bases returned after seven days may result in the loss of your deposit and may be charged at £25 per week, unless agreed by us. Please have some consideration for other couples and return them promptly.
We reserve the right to seek compensation for stands and bases not returned or damaged when returned and to recover cost for replacements.
From time to time certain components for our wedding cakes will become unavailable or obsolete and may have to be replaced, this is totally out of our control, however we will replace these with components of equal or better quality and we reserve the right to do this without consultation.
We will endeavour to colour match any ribbons or icing colours to samples provided by the customer, however in some cases exact matches are impossible therefore we will match as near to the sample as possible. We reserve the right to do this without consultation.
Many of our decorations on our cakes are edible but due to the construction it is advised that you do not eat them. These include pillars ,dowels, ribbon, flower picks, sugar flowers containing wires, tape stamens, and ornaments
The client is responsible for advising the caterers of the inedible items on the cake so that they remove them before serving.
Sugar Design takes no responsibility for fresh flowers used on a cake with regards to any health and safety issues.
When paying your deposit for your wedding cake it is believed that you have read, understood and accept our terms and conditions.
From time to time our designs are published in national wedding cake magazines and other publications. We reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by Sugar Design for publication at a later date.
